Visit of Grand Valley State University (Michigan) Social Work Students to Galway Hospice

For many years, Professor Joan Borst of the School of Social Work at Grand Valley State University (Michigan, USA) has been bringing a group of her students to Galway Hospice as part of an extensive cultural / educational visit to Ireland that counts as credits towards their studies.  This is Joan’s 20th visit to Ireland, and this year, as always, she brought with her 12 exceptionally interested students who wanted to learn all about hospice care in Ireland, through their visit to Galway Hospice.  Galway Hospice, as a fully accredited / certified centre of excellence in palliative care provision, hosts a number of international student visits each year.   Joan will be returning to Galway Hospice in August, this time with a group of academic staff from Grand Valley State University.

The visiting group of students was photographed at Galway Hospice last Wednesday with their Professor (Joan Borst – rear centre).
