This weekend: GALWAY FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB 50th ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS

Festival of Flowers 2017Do you love fabulous flowers? Do you love art and amazing creativity?

Then do not miss the Festival of Flowers entitled “Jewels of the West” from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th May 2017 in St Nicholas Church, Galway. Open on Friday & Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 1pm – 6pm. Admission is €8.00.

The designers are Richard Haslam, internationally known floral artist and Chelsea Gold Medal Winner, and Lorna MacMahon, internationally known for her garden “Ardcarrig”, expert writer for Irish Garden, and a highly experienced floral artist.

Within the walls of the beautiful ancient St. Nicholas Church the Galway Flower Club members, together with highly skilled florists from the Association of Irish Flower Arrangers, and local Flower Clubs from Ennis, Ballinasloe and Sligo will create with flair and creativity, from natural materials and wonderful flowers “The Jewels” – such as Ailwee Caves, Coole Park, Atlantic Coast, Philip Treacy Hats, Galway Races, Transatlantic Crossing Alcock & Brown, Jack Yeats, WB Yeats, An Taibhdhearc, Skelligs, Claddagh Ring, Irish Traditional Music etc. There will be 30 exhibits!

What’s more, there’s the Official Opening on Friday night at 7 with “the Bluebirds” singers and a cheese and wine reception (€10), and there’s a super Concert on Sunday night at 7 with Cois Cladaigh and the Headford Youth Jazz Ensemble (€10).
