Two free legal advisory evenings on the importance of making a Will and the practical steps to take in order to make a valid Will, will be delivered on Thursday 22nd February in the Connacht Hotel and Thursday 8th March in the Westwood Hotel. The information evenings will be delivered by Cormac McCarthy B.A., LL.B., MBS, Dip. Prop. Tax of Cormac McCarthy Solicitors and John Mitchell LL.B. of Mitchell and Company Solicitors.

While making a Will can seem like a daunting task for many, it is important to leave one’s affairs in order. The free advisory evenings will outline how making a Will gives a testator (the person making the Will) peace of mind knowing that their assets will be distributed in accordance with their wishes. Attendees will also be made aware of the criteria for making a valid Will, the difficulties that can arise if a Will is declared invalid, and will be informed about inheritance tax thresholds. Guests will be invited to ask questions throughout. Information packs will be provided and refreshments served following each seminar.

The advisory evenings are being organised in association with the Galway Hospice Foundation. Recent major developments at the Hospice and future planning have been hugely aided by legacies or charitable gifts from members of the public. Galway Hospice representatives will be in attendance on both evenings to answer questions relating to these developments and future plans.

All are welcome to attend.
