The Galway Memorial Walk 2014 is up and running!

Registration is open for this year’s Galway Memorial Walk, and sponsorship cards are already in circulation. But we are asking people to only sponsor those that they know!

In an attempt to combat ‘bogus’ collections purporting to be in aid of Galway Hospice, earlier this year we introduced hologramed sponsorship cards. All sponsorship cards issued by Galway Hospice for fundraising events such as the Memorial Walk, Mini Marathon and the Croagh Patrick Climb now carry a prominent message stating: ‘only give to someone you know’. This message is printed across the front and inside the card. The front cover also carries a foil hologram of the Galway Hospice logo, the purpose of which is to discourage people from photocopying the cards.  We value hugely the support we get from the people of Galway, and we are doing all we can to prevent bogus collectors from profiting from that goodwill.  So, we are asking the public NOT to sponsor anyone with a sponsorship card that does not carry an original hologram.

Your support helps to ensure the free availability of Galway Hospice services to patients and families for as long as they are needed.
