Illuminate your memories this Christmas on the Galway Memorial Tree located at Galway Hospice in Renmore.
On Sunday 6th December, the Galway Memorial Christmas Tree ‘Lighting up’ Ceremony will be taking place on the grounds of Galway Hospice. Mayor of Galway, Councillor Frank Fahy will be attending the ceremony and everyone is welcome to come along.
The Galway Memorial Tree will be adorned with thousands of lights, illuminating thousands of memories, and brightening the Winter skies.
To set the festive spirit for the switching-on ceremony, the Mervue Folk Choir will sing a selection of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs, and will be joined by Clare Quinn as guest soloist. After the ceremony, hot refreshments will be served in the Hospice.
Once again this year, members of the public can sponsor one or more of the lights on the tree in memory of a loved one. This can be done via the Galway Hospice website www.galwayhospice.ie or by contacting the Hospice on 091 770868.
In addition, a Memorial Candle can be purchased anytime at the Hospice in Renmore, or at the illumination ceremony itself, or later during the Festive Season, and placed at the base of the Memorial Tree.
Tributes can also be added to our online Remembrance Book ‘Treasured Memories’ on www.galwayhospice.ie
We hope you will be able to attend our ceremony, or visit the tree at some stage over the festive season.
