Sue Sheard Memorial Trek in Mourne Mountains for Galway Hospice

A special memorial Trek in the Mourne Mountains (Co. Down) will take place on Saturday 13th August 2011.  The Trek is in memory of Sue Sheard (RIP) and proceeds from the event will be donated to Galway Hospice.

Sue Sheard lived in County Galway and was cared-for by Galway Hospice during her final illness.  Sue’s close friends and family are organising this event in her memory.  Sue was a selfless, loving and eternally optimistic person, whose life was cut short by cancer.  She was a ‘giver’, spending her entire life caring for others and always doing it with a smile and a kind word.  Approaching the first anniversary of her untimely death, Sue’s friends and family decided that it would be fitting to raise money through the Trek for Galway Hospice, an organisation that – in their view – gives so much, as Sue had done in her lifetime.

Those partaking in this Trek will have a choice of two routes through the majestic landscape of the Mourne Mountains: either a challenging 10 mile hike over varying terrain and mountain peaks, or a hike along the 22-mile route of the Mourne Wall.

If you would like to take part in this trek, or simply make a donation towards this event, log onto http://www.mycharity.ie/event/sue_sheard_mourne_mountain_memorial_walk_2011/ or alternatively contact Galway Hospice on 091 770868.   Any and all support received will be much appreciated.
