Recruitment of Bereavement Support Volunteers – Information Evening: Wednesday, 18th April 2018

volunteersGalway Hospice is currently seeking volunteers to provide bereavement support alongside its existing bereavement service. An information evening on this new initiative will be delivered on Wednesday 18th April at 7.30 pm in the Education Centre at Galway Hospice. Refreshments will be provided on the evening. The initiative requires volunteers to partake of 60 hours formal training in loss and bereavement, two weekend workshops (skills training) and 60 hours mentorship (offering supervision and reflection on what has been learned).

So, do you have spare time on your hands? Are you a good listener? Are you interested in sitting with bereaved people and offering them time just to talk? If yes, please come along to our information evening and learn more about how you can make a difference in your community. We look forward to meeting with you. For further information about this event and the role of a bereavement support volunteer, please contact Ann Keating, Bereavement Coordinator, on 091 770868 (Ext: 18) or on 087 1849611 or email Ann at akeating@galwayhospice.ie.
