Recently, Galway Hospice was presented with a cheque for €1,575 by Tom Linnane of P&O Maritime, Galway. Members of P&O Maritime’s Sports and Social Club raised funds through their participation in this year’s Croagh Patrick Climb in aid of Galway Hospice, which took place on Saturday, 14th June. P&O Maritime then topped-up the fund in recognition and support of their staff members’ efforts to raise money for Galway Hospice.
Tom Linnane of P&O Maritime is pictured presenting the proceeds raised to Joanne Tierney of Galway Hospice. Sincere thanks to the members of the Sports and Social Club at P&O Maritime who took part in this year’s Croagh Patrick Climb in aid of Galway Hospice, to P&O Maritime management and staff for their support, and to everyone who supported the group in their fundraising endeavours.
Galway Hospice Home Care, Day Care and Bereavement Support services cost €1.6 million every year to provide. Galway Hospice receives no State funding towards the provision of these essential servcies, and the support of people like Tom and his P&O Maritime colleagues is therefore extremely important to and much appreciated by Galway Hospice. Thank you and well done everyone!
