N.U.I.G Physics Society raises €310.75 for Galway Hospice

IMG_2621 (Copy)Orla Carty, Auditor of the N.U.I.G Physics Society, recently visited Galway Hospice to present Joanne Tierney of the Foundation’s Fundraising Department with a cheque for €310.75, raised through a raffle held during the N.U.I.G Science Ball.

Orla (right of the photograph) is pictured presenting Joanne with the proceeds raised. Sincere thanks to Orla and her peers for choosing Galway Hospice as the beneficiary of the event’s raffle proceeds, and helping to raise further awareness of the charity amongst the university’s students.

Every year, Galway Hospice must raise €1.8 million to maintain current levels of Hospice Home Care, Day Care and Bereavement Support services throughout Galway city and county.  Galway Hospice depends hugely on fundraising endeavours like this one to reach this annual fundraising target.  Thank you for your support to date.
