Mock Wedding in Memory of Avril Duffy – A Special Thank You

Thank you with sunflowers (Copy)On the 11th March, a mock wedding in memory of Avril Duffy and in aid of Galway Hospice took place in Sullivan’s Royal Hotel in Gort.  Galway Hospice would like to extend a huge and very sincere thank you to Avril’s family and friends for their immense support for the Foundation, as well as to John Sullivan of Sullivan’s Royal Hotel for his incredible help and generosity on the night. John provided the venue free-of-charge and staffed the evening at his own expense, which meant that even more of the proceeds will go to Galway Hospice. Thank you also to everyone who participated in and supported this special evening. Proceeds from this event are heading towards a whopping €45,000, all of which will be given to Galway Hospice.

Dr Richard Joyce, Chairman of the Galway Hospice Board of Directors, was part of the “cast of top-table characters” at the wedding party.  We would like to wish him a speedy recovery having ruptured both of his achilles tendons in an unfortunate accident at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Gort.
