Hurlers for Hospice

Christmas is just around the corner, and Galway Hospice has launched its Christmas Collection which includes a selection of festive products. Their Christmas Collection is one of their most important fundraising campaigns, as it helps raise much needed funds to continue providing specialist palliative care services to Galway patients and their families, who are learning to live with a life-limiting illness.

The campaign was launched by Jason Flynn (Galway Hurler) and Sarah Dervan (Galway Camogie Captain), with sponsors Mary Lardner from O’Tooles Supervalu Tuam, Catherine Hosty from Radharc Landscaping Moycullen and Lauren O’Reilly from Ultimate Office & Interiors Galway in attendance. Missing from photo were sponsors; Busker Brownes Bar and Restaurant Galway, EJ Kings Bar and Restaurant Clifden and Signfit Branding.

Mary Nash, CEO, Galway Hospice was also in attendance, she noted “We are very grateful to the sponsors who support the Galway Hospice Christmas Campaign each year. Their support allows 100% of the funds raised to go directly to work of the Hospice.”

Among the Christmas products showcased at McD’s Garden Centre in Galway were Galway Hospice Christmas cards, Angel pins, Christmas wrapping paper and Christmas tree decorations. New for 2021 are the Angel pins which read ‘May you always have an angel at your side’ and Luxury Christmas wrapping paper which reads ‘Wrap up with Galway Hospice’. Other Galway Hospice items available to gift a loved one at Christmas are 2022 Calendars, titled ‘Images of Galway’ and a Weekly Draw Voucher, which gives entrants the chance to win €1,000 each week. Galway Hospice’s very popular Christmas Cards are now available for just €7 for a box of 12. All products are available online at www.galwayhospice.ie and Christmas Cards are available in over 150 local outlets across Galway City & County.

Mary continued “With an increasing demand on our services through Galway City and County, the funds raised each year throughout our Christmas campaign are vital. The important contribution that the public play when purchasing Christmas products cannot be underestimated.”

Thanks to all Sponsors, to Poppy Seed Café at Galway Crystal for providing refreshments and to Elaine Fahy and Sean McDonald in McD’s who organised a beautiful Christmas back drop for the launch. Huge thank you as always to the people of Galway, who have been tremendously supportive of the Galway Hospice Christmas products over the years.
