IMG_1318 (Copy)Many thanks to John O’Dea and the Burren Circle Charity Cycle committee, who recently presented Orla Feeney of Galway Hospice with a cheque for €3,000. The group raised these proceeds through the Burren Circle Charity Cycle, which took place on Saturday May 21st in aid of Galway Hospice and Kinvara United Football Club.

Pictured at the cheque presentation are (l-r): Clare Ryan, Sinead Macmahon, Gerard O’Dea, Jenny O’Dea, Liam Kavanagh, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice), John O’Dea, Evelyn Macmahon, Michael Macmahon, Ger Ryan and younger participants Michael and Anna Macmahon.

The Burren Circle Charity Cycle committee and Galway Hospice would like to express thanks to the event’s main sponsors Macmahons Mace and Macmahons Oil, Kinvara and to all the other sponsors who supported this event.  Special thanks to all the cyclists who took part in the event and to the stewards and the many others who helped and supported on the day.

Events like this are extremely important to Galway Hospice in terms of sustainable fundraising. This donation will help us to continue providing our fully-accredited specialist palliative care services to adults and children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout Galway city and county, and on the adjoining islands, as well as providing support to their families and carers. As always, hospice services continue to be provided free-of-charge, for as long as they are needed.

Well done and thank you to all concerned!
