Ballyglunin Races 2011 raise €10,200 for Galway Hospice

The Ballyglunin Races committee have done it again!!!!  The annual Ballyglunin Horse and Pony Races have proved, yet again, to be a huge success.  The event, which has been running every year since 2003, has become established as one of the biggest events of its kind in Ireland and each year proves to be a very enjoyable day out for all the family. To date, the Ballyglunin Races have raised €97,300 for Galway Hospice, and each year the event proves more and more successful.

Pictured at the presentation of the cheque for €10,200 to Galway Hospice from this year’s event are:

Front Row:  Bernie Lambert, May Loughlin, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice), Mattie Ryan, Sharon Gannon, Mairead Kelly.

Middle Row: Mattie Loughlin, Francis Connolly, Eugene Whelan, Paddy Igoe, Mick Davin.

Back Row: P.J. Connolly, Paddy Joe Joyce, Aidan Loughlin, Kevin Tarpey, Paddy Igoe, Thomas Ruane.

Thanks to everyone who supported this event and especially to the organising committee who do such an amazing job on a voluntary basis. Annual recurring events like this are very important to Galway Hospice in terms of sustainable fundraising and are also a great encouragment at a time when fundraising has become particurarly challenging. Thanks to all concerned and well done!!!
