Annual Walk in memory of Margaret Ridge raises €7,939.20 for Galway Hospice

The annual 6-mile Margaret Ridge Memorial Walk proved once again to be a huge success, raising €7,939.20 this year for Galway Hospice.  The walk, from Coill Saile to Rosmuc, is now in its 11th year and has raised the extraordinary amount of €108,499.93 for Galway Hospice since 2002!

Pictured at this year’s cheque presentation to Maggie Corless (Galway Hospice – centre) are (l-r): Coleman Cooke, Louis Ridge, Maureen Sullivan and Maryann Sullivan.

Our sincere thanks to Coleman, Louis, Maureen and Maryann who take on the organising and running of this event each year just to raise funds for Galway Hospice.  The success of this event over the years is not just a testament to the memory of Margaret Ridge, but also to the phenomenal commitment of the organisers.  Their efforts have been hugely important in helping us to continue providing hospice Home Care and Day Care services to those that need them, as we do not receive any State funding towards those services.

Thanks also to the fantastic people of Connemara who have supported the Walk so faithfully over the years by participating in the Walk or helping out in other ways to make the event so successful.
