Recently, Galway Hospice was presented with a cheque for €10,348.25, resulting from a series of fundraising events organised and co-ordinated by management and staff at the Tuam Leisure Centre, as well as by a group of local volunteers.
The group began their fundraising campaign in March last year and continued fundraising for Galway Hospice until June. Events included three cake sales, a 5 kilometre run, a table quiz, as well as bucket collections and on-line fundraising. The campaign culminated with over 100 people taking part in a sponsored ‘Hell and Back’ challenge.
Sincere thanks to Gary Scully, to everyone who helped organise and co-ordinate each fundraising event, as well as to everyone who participated in and supported the events. Well done everyone!

Every year, Galway Hospice must raise €1.8 million to ensure the continuing delivery of Hospice Home Care, Day Care and Bereavement Support services to people throughout Galway city and county, as well as to those residing on the adjoining islands. As a result, fundraising events like those organised by Tuam Leisure Centre and friends are extremely important to Galway Hospice. Thank you!
