12th Annual Ballyglunin Horse and Pony Races raises €8,500 for Galway Hospice!

DSC_0002 ed (Copy)Members of the Ballyglunin Horse and Pony Races committee recently presented Galway Hospice with a cheque for €8,500 which they raised through the 12th Annual Ballyglunin Horse and Pony Races.  This annual fundraising event in aid of Galway Hospice took place on Sunday 29th June and was, once again, a great success.

Since it began in 2003, this event has raised a total of €121,050 for Galway Hospice!  In addition, €4,720.82 was raised in 2002 through a Dance that committee members also held in support of Galway Hospice!

Pictured at this year’s cheque presentation are: standing (l-r): Michael Davin, Tommy Conneely, Martin Loughlin, Tommy Dooley, Paddy Joyce, Denis Hynes, Francis Connolly, Michael Connolly, Aidan Loughlin, Kevin Tarpey, Conor McMahon and Jarlath Laffey. Seated (l-r): Dean McMahon, Paddy Forde, Sean Collins, Mattie Ryan, Joanne Tierney (Galway Hospice), Mai Loughlin, Paddy Broderick and Zara Fahy.

This fantastic group of people deserve great credit for their dedication over the years in organising this annual event for Galway Hospice, and for making it into the very enjoyable and successful “family day out” that it has become.  Thank you to every single member that has played a part in organising this event over the years.  Thanks also to everyone who supported or attended this event over the years.

Every year, Galway Hospice must raise €1.6 million to ensure the provision of Home Care, Day Care and Bereavement Support services. Fundraising events such as the Ballyglunin Horse and Pony Races are extremely important to Galway Hospice.   THANK YOU to everyone involved.
