Galway Hospice named Gradam finalist/Ospís na Gaillimhe ainmnithe do Ghearrliosta an Ghradaim

Galway Hospice is delighted to be named a finalist for the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh for 2023.

The Gradam, Galway’s own bilingual business award, is organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge in partnership with the Galway Advertiser, TG4 and Galway Chamber.

Gaillimh le Gaeilge is the organisation that promotes the Irish language in Galway city in partnership with Galway City Council, Galway Chamber and other bilingual groups in the city.

With its 21st anniversary, the Gradam continues to celebrate and recognise all the bilingual work being accomplished by businesses and organisations in Ireland’s Bilingual City.

Galway Hospice is shortlisted in the Community and Culture category, sponsored by Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, Ollscoil na Gaillimhe.

“We have committed ourselves to using more Gaeilge in every way we can in order to make Galway Hospice a more bilingual environment,” said Charlene Hurley, Galway Hospice Director of Fundraising & Communications.

Last year, Galway Hospice won the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh in the ‘Non-Profit and Other Companies’ category.

Tá an-áthas ar Ospís na Gaillimhe a bheith ainmnithe ar Ghearrliosta Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh do 2023.

Tá an Gradam, gradam gnó dátheangach na Gaillimhe féin, á eagrú ag Gaillimh le Gaeilge, i gcomhpháirtíocht leis an Galway Advertiser, TG4 agus Cumann Tráchtála na Gaillimhe.

Is é Gaillimh le Gaeilge an eagraíocht a chuireann an Ghaeilge chun cinn i gcathair na Gaillimhe i gcomhpháirtíocht le Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe, Cumann Tráchtála na Gaillimhe agus grúpaí dátheangacha eile sa chathair.

Agus é 21 bliain ar an bhfód, leanann an Gradam ag ceiliúradh agus ag tabhairt aitheantais don obair dhátheangach ar fad atá á déanamh ag gnólachtaí agus eagraíochtaí i gCathair Dhátheangach na hÉireann.

Tá Ospís na Gaillimhe ar an ngearrliosta sa chatagóir Pobail agus Cultúir, urraithe ag Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, Ollscoil na Gaillimhe.

“Táimid tiomanta chun níos mó Gaeilge a úsáid in aon slí is féidir linn chun timpeallacht dhátheangach níos láidre a chruthú d’Ospís na Gaillimhe,” a dúirt Charlene Hurley, Stiúrthóir Tiomsaithe Airgid & Cumarsáide Ospís na Gaillimhe.

Bhuaigh Ospís na Gaillimhe Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh sa chatagóir ‘Neamhbhrabúis agus Cuideachtaí Eile’ anuraidh.
