Connemarathon: Michelle and friends raise €1610 for Galway Hospice

Michelle Kelly and her friends Fiona and Christian recently took part in the Connemarathon in aid of Galway Hospice and in memory of Patsy Ward (RIP).   The athletic trio raised a total of €1610 through the event, which they kindly donated to Galway Hospice.

Pictured at the cheque presentation are (l-r): Michelle Kelly, Fiona Byrnes, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice) and Christian Kelly. Many thanks to Michelle, Fiona and Christian for taking part in the Connemarathon to benefit Galway Hospice, and of course to everyone who supported them in their challenge.

Galway Hospice depends so much on people like Michelle, Fiona and Christian, and many others, who take on the most amazing challenges just to raise funds for Galway Hospice.  Today, our Home Care Team is caring for 136 patients in their own homes, patients who might otherwise have to be in hospitals or nursing homes. The vast majority of these patients want to be cared for at home, if there is a choice available. Hospice not alone provides that choice, but provides a comprehensive level of quality care in the home. Hopefully, some day, the State will see fit to fund this service. In the meantime, we rely on amazing people like Michelle, Fiona and Christian to help with the funding of this service.
