Mervue Folk Choir CD raises €8500 for Galway Hospice

The Mervue Folk Choir (Galway), which was established over 30 years ago, released their debut CD “Amazing Love” last December.  The choir is predominantly made up of a group of friends that grew up together in Mervue, and formed a lasting bond through being part of “the choir”, and who continue to love singing together as an expression of shared friendship and faith.  The choir sing regularly on Sundays at the 12.30pm Mass in Mervue Church, and they are known far-and-wide for their vibrant choral arrangements of both classic and modern Christian songs.

The choir’s CD has been available for sale through the Mervue Parish office, and through members of the choir.  To date, €14,500 in sales has been achieved.  On Sunday 19th June 2011, presentation of cheques was made to the four benefitting charities, Galway Hospice Foundation, Mervue Senior Citizens, Enable Ireland (Galway) and Rosedale School (Renmore).
