This is the website of Galway Hospice Foundation (‘we’, ‘us, ‘our’). We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy.

Galway Hospice is registered with the Companies Registration Office (Company Number 202568) and is a registered charity with the Charities Regulatory Authority (Registered Charity Number 20022150, CHY Number 8837).

The purpose of this notice is to inform you of the personal data we collect about you when you visit our website www.galwayhospice.ie, and to help you understand how this data is used, including any disclosures to third parties.

Galway Hospice complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018 in relation to your personal data and its use via this website. For electronic direct marketing, we also comply with the ePrivacy Regulations (SI 336/2011).

Data Controller

Galway Hospice Foundation is the Data Controller of all personal data that is collected and used about you in connection with your visit to our website.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all who make contact with us through this website and take our responsibility regarding the security of our service users, clients and donor’s personal data very seriously. We will be clear and transparent about the personal data we are collecting through our website and what we do with that data.

The only personal data collected by Galway Hospice Foundation through our website is information you choose to provide through emailing us, applying for a job, sharing your story, registering for events, making a donation or using our on-line shop. This personal data may include:

·         your credit/debit card or bank account details;

        processing a donation or claiming tax relief on donations where relevant

Galway Hospice Foundation is committed to the security of your personal data and we have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to achieve this. The data you provide to us is protected using Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology. We require all third parties to have appropriate technical and operational security measures in place to protect your personal data, in line with data protection legislation. We also have binding contracts in place with any third-party data processors.

Data retention

Galway Hospice Foundation will retain your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or to comply with our obligations under applicable law and, if required, to deal with any claim or dispute that might arise between you and us. We will not hold your personal data for any longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we initially collected it.

Transfers of personal data abroad

There may be occasions where Galway Hospice Foundation may require personal data to be transferred abroad. Where any such transfer is to a country outside of the European Economic Area which does not have an Adequacy Decision from the European Union we will ensure that all the necessary safeguards are put in place prior to the transfer.

This website is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children. If you are under 16, please ensure that you have a parent or guardian’s permission before providing Galway Hospice Foundation with any personal data.
