20th and 21st April – Annaghdown Sponsored Cycle in aid of Galway Hospice

It’s that time of year again!  The 26th annual Annaghdown Sponsored Cycle takes place this year on next Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April.  Pushing off again from Regan’s of Clonboo at 10am on Saturday 20th April, the cyclists will blaze a trail, passing through Galway, Oranmore, Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan, Kinvara (stopping for refreshments at the Merriman Inn), then on to Carron, and finishing in Ennistymon for an overnight stay in the Falls Hotel ( a chat in the lobby and a long night’s sleep ……).

Next morning (21st April) the intrepid cyclists will power their way back to Clonboo, through Inagh, Ennis, Barefield, Crusheen, Gort (stopping for refreshments at O’Sullivans Hotel),  then on to Ardrahan, Clarinbridge, Oranmore, Galway and finally Clonboo, aiming to arrive at Regan’s Bar at approximately 5pm.  As always, Regan’s legendary hospitality will await them on their return.

All proceeds from the Cycle will go to Galway Hospice and all support for the riders and the accompanying crew will be much appreciated.   If you live along the route of the cycle, why not watch out for the cyclists and encourage them along the way!  These cyclists are “heroes” – giving of themselves for the benefit of others.

Events like this are so important to Galway Hospice in terms of our continuing fundraising requirements. This fantastic cycle event, now in its 26th year, is a credit to all concerned. We extend our admiration and appreciation to the organisers of this cycle, for their hard work and tremendous support of Galway Hospice.  Thank you!
