10th Annual Walk in Memory of Margaret Ridge raises €8300 for Galway Hospice

Galway Hospice was recently presented with the proceeds of the Annual Sponsored Walk in memory of the late Margaret Ridge (RIP). Now in its 10th year, this event takes place on Easter Monday of each year, and is a very popular event among the people of Connemara.  This year, the event raised €8,300 for Galway Hospice, bringing the overall amount raised since the beginning of this event in 2002 to a whopping €91,856.73.

Pictured at the recent cheque presentation to Galway Hospice are (l-r): Louis Ridge, Maureen Sullivan, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice) and Colman Cooke.  Galway Hospice would like to thank Louis, Maureen and Colman for their wonderful support for Galway Hospice over the years and especially to the thousands of people who have supported this event over the past 10 years. Galway Hospice depends hugely on annual recurring events like this one, in terms of sustainable fundraising.   Annual events like this are also a great source of encouragement for us at a time when fundraising has become particularly challenging. Well done to all concerned!  Míle buíochas dhíbh go léir!
