Visit of An Taoiseach to Galway Hospice

An Taoiseach, Mr Brian Cowen TD, visited Galway Hospice on Saturday 2nd October 2010 in recognition of the achievement of CHKS Accreditation and ISO 9001:2008 Certification by Galway Hospice, the first hospice in Ireland to achieve these dual awards.  The Taoiseach met with patients, staff, volunteers and members of the Board of Galway Hospice.  He praised the staff on their achievement, and acknowledged the quality and extent of services provided by Galway Hospice.  He also acknowledged the fantastic support that the hospice receives from the people of Galway in funding the Home Care and Day Care services provided by the hospice.  Pictured (L-R) are Joe Connolly (Board Member), Sean O’Healy (Chief Executive), Dr Richard Joyce (Chairman, Board of Galway Hospice) and An Taoiseach Mr Brian Cowen TD.
