Sunday 23rd June – Currafest in aid of Galway Hospice and Our Lady’s Childrens Hospital Crumlin

It’s that time of year again!!!!! Now in it’s third year, The Currafest Music Festival takes place this year tomorrow, Sunday 23rd June 2013 on the site of McCormack’s Bar and Curra West Golf Club, and promises to be even bigger & better than last year!!

The event is being held as a tribute to the late Niamh Monahan who lost her battle with cancer in June 2010, aged 30yrs.  As always Currafest is a charity-driven event and proceeds raised from the event will be donated this year to Galway Hospice and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.

Reforming for the event and kicking off this year’s festival at 1.30pm are Galway’s trad/rock group FURRY VILLAGE who promise to deliver an amazing set. Throughout the day festival goers will enjoy the sounds of Ireland’s top original and cover acts including BLUEMOOSE, AMAZING APPLES, BIG GENERATOR, WHO KNOWS, LUNAR PLAYGROUND, voice of Ireland star JOHN GAUGHAN, LEADING ARMIES, HOT FUSS and much more, with acoustic sessions from the HOOCH HIKERS, 3pont5, 28 SPACES and WHITEWATER RAFTING.

Live DJ’s include Fergal D’Arcy, DJ Robbie and DJ 4D will also have the crowd hopping on the day so there really is plenty to keep festival goers busy dancing all day!

Tickets for CurraFest 2013 are priced at an amazing €15 with children under 12yrs going free.  Tickets can be purchased through their website www.currafest.ie and through local vendors which are also listed on the website. Even if you can’t attend on the day, buying a ticket is a super way to support both the Galway Hospice and Our Lady’s Childrens Hospital so get yours NOW!
