Galway Hospice and The Corrib Lions Club were recently presented with a combined cheque for €23,000 by Strictly Galway chairperson Pat Finlay. The event took place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway on Friday 29th April with 26 dancers taking to the stage to perform a variety of dances, ranging from the Cha Cha to the Tango. Prior to the event night, these dancers undertook several weeks of rehearsing with the aid of professional choreographers from KR Events. MC on the night was Ollie Turner from Galway Bay fm, while the judging panel on the night consisted of Phil Grealish (St Columba’s Credit Union), Mandy Maher (Catwalk Model Agency), Cllr. Ollie Crowe and Amy Walsh (KR Events choreographer).
The night raised a fantastic total of €23,000 which was shared between Galway Hospice and Corrib Lions Club and pictured is event chairperson Pat Finlay presenting the proceeds to the two charities.
Pictured (l-r) are Corrib Lions Club members Barry O’Connor, Pat Finlay (Chairperson), Maureen Donohoe, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice), Michelle Whelan Kennedy, Derek Kerrigan (President, Corrib Lions Club) and Séan Ó Muircheartaigh.

Many thanks and well done to everyone who helped organise this event for Galway Hospice and the Corrib Lions Club and also to everyone who supported the event through ticket sales, sponsorship and other inputs or donations.
