Presentation to Galway Hospice in Memory of Roy Murphy

Teresa and Jody Murphy recently presented a motorised armchair to the Day Care Unit at Galway Hospice, in memory of their son Roy Murphy who had been attending the Galway Hospice Day Care Unit for a number of years.  The presentatiion was made by Teresa and Jody on their own behalf, and on behalf of Roy’s brother Dara and his sister Alma.  Roy was much loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him, and is fondly remembered by the staff at Galway Hospice.

Pictured at the presentation of the chair are Teresa Murphy (seated) with (l-r):  Jody Murphy, Martina Lyons (Aromatherapist), Bridie Quinlivan (Healthcare Assistant) and Lesley Carroll (Clinical Nurse Manager, Day Care).

We are very grateful to Teresa, Jody, Dara and Alma for this very practical and useful gift.  The chair will provide much comfort and enjoyment for the patients who attend Day Care each week.  Day Care not alone provides medical and nursing supports, but also provides a range of therapies, as well as recreational and social activities for our patients.  Thank you to the people of Galway who make this service possible through their ongoing financial support of Galway Hospice.  The Galway Hospice Home Care and Day Care services do not receive any State support, but rely totally on the generosity of the public.
