Medical Social Work Department

The Medical Social Work Department offer psychological, emotional and practical support to patients and their families under the care of Galway Hospice.

We recognise that each individual’s experience of a serious illness is different and support from our team can make a difference.

The Medical Social Work Department work alongside the Multidisciplinary Team and provide a counselling support service for patients and their families. We can help you talk through thoughts and feelings about illness, life changes and other challenges you may be experiencing as a result of a serious illness. We offer support and advice to parents and families in terms of communicating with children and managing difficult conversations.
