Galway Swimming Club raises €7,000 for Galway Hospice

Many thanks to the Galway Swimming Club who recently presented Galway Hospice with a cheque for €7,000 at the Galway Swimming Club awards ceremony.

The club raised these funds through a relay “Atlantic Swim”, which involved the participants swimming the Atlantic distance of 5,169 kilometres in the Leisureland Pool.  In the process, they raised sponsorship for Galway Hospice and Galway Swimming Club.

Pictured at the presentation are (l-r): Michael Craig (Galway Hospice), Ellen Leahy (Swimming Team Captain), Cian Duffy (Swimming Team Captain) and Galway City Mayor, Hildegarde Naughton.

Many thanks to everyone who took part in this event and to everyone who supported the swimmers in aid of Galway Hospice and Galway Swimming Club.
