Galway Hospice receives International Quality Award for the second time!

2014 Award Presentation (Copy)Galway Hospice has been honoured with the CHKS International Quality Award 2014 – the second time Galway Hospice has received this international accolade.   The Award was presented at a gala awards ceremony, as part of the “UK Top40 Hospitals Awards” –  at the Goldsmiths Hall in London on Tuesday last, 14th May 2014.  The five finalists for the 2014 International Quality Award were from Ireland, UK and Portugal.   The Award is open to healthcare organisations across Europe who are accredited by CHKS, and each organisation can only be nominated every three years.  Galway Hospice previously won this award in 2011.  This year, the International Awards Panel decided, for the first time, to give the International Quality Award to two organisations, such was the “exceptional quality” of two of the nominated organisations.  Galway Hospice is delighted to be selected as one of the two award winners for 2014.   The Award is based on proven excellence in quality care delivery, and excellence in staff supports and morale.
