Defence Forces ‘Western Way Walk’ raises €4,740 for Galway Hospice

Well done to Paul Doolin and his colleagues from Renmore Barracks who recently organised a ‘Western Way Walk’ in aid of Galway Hospice. The walk extended from Oughterard to Croagh Patrick and return, taking 2 days to complete.  Through this sponsored Walk, the group raised €4,740 which they recently presented to Orla Feeney of Galway Hospice.

Pictured at the cheque presentation are (l-r): Pte Peter Folan, SS John Flannery, SS Padraig Lyons, Orla Feeney (Galway Hospice), SS Paul Doolin, Cré John Greene and Comdt Kevin Campion.

Events like this are so important to Galway Hospice in terms of sustainable fundraising. We appreciate so much the enthusiasm and loyalty of groups like this who put so much time and effort into organising and taking part in events like this, just to raise funds for Galway Hospice.

Thanks again to all concerned.  Yeez are brill!
