Croagh Patrick Climb raises €19,841.58 for Galway Hospice

Galway Hospice was recently presented with the proceeds of a Croagh Patrick Climb which took place on 18th June 2011.  The climb, which was organised by Shane McDonagh and Norman Black, was very well supported, with many members of the public taking part.

This event is now in its third year, and each year it has become more and more successful.   To the great credit of the organisers, this year’s event raised a whopping  €19,841.58 for Galway Hospice!

Pictured are Shane McDonagh and Norman Black presenting the proceeds to Mary Tierney (Galway Hospice).  For those who should have gone to Specsavers, Mary Tierney is the one in the middle!

Galway Hospice would like to thank Shane and Norman for their continuing support in both organising and taking part in this event for the past three years, and also to the members of the public who took part in the climb and raised funds alongside Shane and Norman. Annual recurring events like this are very important to Galway Hospice, as we need to raise €1.5 million every year to fund our Home Care and Day Care services.  Given the current financial climate, this is an even greater challenge, but people like Shane and Norman and countless others keep us encouraged and determined to press on!  Someday, someone you know may need our services.  Others need us today.  Thank you for every cent of support you give to Galway Hospice!
