Ballinasloe Tug-of-War Club raise €1700 for Galway Hospice

Congratulations and many thanks to the Ballinasloe Tug-of-War Club who raised €1700 for Galway Hospice through holding a Benefit Dance in Blake’s, Ballinasloe.  The Team is sponsored by the Black Pig Bar on Dunlo Hill in Ballinasloe, where the cheque presentation took place today, on the eve of the Ballinasloe Great October Fair.

Pictured at the cheque presentation are (l-r): Shane Greaney (wearing the Ballinasloe Tug-of-War Club jersey), Noel Higgins, Adrian Blaine (behind Paula Earls of the Black Pig Bar – centre, front), Paul Swift, and Sean O’Healy (Galway Hospice).  Photo courtesy of Fiona Duane.

Many thanks to Paul and his team for choosing Galway Hospice to benefit from this event.  Paul and other members of the Club had direct family experience of Galway Hospice in the past, and have supported the Hospice through many fundraising events over the years.  Thanks also to everyone who supported the event in Blake’s earlier this year.  The Ballinasloe Tug-of-War Club will be at “full stretch” next week when members participate in various local teams for the Tug-of-War Competition that is one of the biggest attractions of the Ballinasloe Great October Fair.
